• I’m trying to develop a theme but my wp-comments-post.php is blank on the front end, which is barring me from making comments. I’ve fiddled around with the code on the back end but none of the things I’ve done have made a difference.

I also changed the theme to twentysixteen and the problem persists, so I know it’s not an issue with my theme. Would anyone know what’s wrong?

wp-comments-post.php is a WordPress core file.

If you find it empty, then replace it with a fresh copy. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up this file.

@t-p I’ve done so, but the back end (the file) is not blank – only the front end. It’s as if the code is faulty, but I have a feeling it might be more of a hosting issue or similar.
