is there an easy way to show the upcomming WordPress Community Events as seen on the dashboard, on a page via shortcode?

    Best regards
    Chris

    Hiya,

Technically, yes, although the API we use is intended for back-end use and not for general use elsewhere, so we can’t provide any guarantees that it won’t change etc (this is why we generally discourage use of www.ads-software.com APIs outside the project in cases like this).

You could look at the Meetup API your self, https://www.meetup.com/meetup_api/, and see if anything there is of help to you though, since that’s in part where our data comes from.

I had to ask around and the only thing is this but it’s a start https://central.wordcamp.org/schedule/.

Those are available via RSS and iCal.

I’d suggest a good calendar plugin that can handle the ical import and keep nosing around for more content.

If you start carrying these on your site in some manner and then find a few other local feeds then maybe this would snowball into something really handy.

There’s also some calendaring features, search, and an API over at Meetup you might want to look into. https://www.meetup.com/meetup_api/

Thanks @clorith and @jnashhawkins for your help. I thought there would be an simple solution for this, but i understand the problem.

The wordcamp via RSS is an good idea, but i would like to show the german meetup groups. Maybe the best way could be the Meetup API. I will give her a try ??
