• It installed okay, but when I try to login (as admin) it accepts my details then says:

“There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.”

I can still access wordpress (OpenDisc) but I can’t administer it.

Install worked fine, and the file is definitely there, so where am I going wrong?

I just thought I’d add that during install it correctly logged into the sql database and populated it, using the data in wp-config.php. Now it’s choosing to ignore it ??

Even more bizarrely, everything works except for the Dashboard, which gives me the error above. I run another wordpress so I knew the url to use for options and got in through that way.

Still, it’d be nice to be able to see the dashboard – can anybody help?

Since there is nothing there yet. Why not reinstall and see what happens. Just go ahead and delete the database and all the wordpress files and start over. Have a look at this just in case you might have missed something.
