wp-content and child theme

You have to upload WordPress first to your Bluehost account. You should probably go ahead and run the install after that.

Once you’ve done that, you should see the wp-content folder in the root directory of the WordPress install.

How do I do that? Upload WordPress to Bluehost? Please forgive me, I’m really new to WordPress.

Yes, it’s on the server, and you’ll need to use FTP or Cpanel to access those site files.

Okay, so you will need to create the child theme files on your local computer- and make a folder for the child theme – and then using FTP or Cpanel to upload that folder to the themes folder – you can find it inside the wp-content folder.

Which part? These are basic skills for web work – and there is LOTS of info on YouTube and other places.

If you prefer, there are plugins that will create child themes – you could try one of them – either of the first two here are supposed to be good:

Sorry, I don’t know how to create the child theme locally on my computer. I will try those plugins first. Will probably be easier for me. Thanks!
