I believe I installed this MMR plugin such a long time ago and removed it, now I noticed there is a folder in my server /wp-content/mmr/ and there are a bunch of files there, example: /wp-content/mmr/bootstrap.js

Even removeing the whole folder of MMR, it comes back after a few minutes. I can’t remove this? what is going on?

I delete the folder and it comes back with last modified date of today. Is this some sort of virus?

Very strange. If you preview the files do they have genuine content in them? Also, do you use any other caching plugins that might be generating the files?

    Thread Starter goody317

    (@goody317)

Yes they do have genuine content in them, now look at this more files sample

The only cache I have in my site is using ezoic and they are ad advertisements with their own cache, I have nothing else. So I don’t think they could be generating /wp-content/mmr/ in my server.

What can I do to get rid of this?

Are you sure the MMR has been completely removed? Those files should only be created when MMR is installed and enabled.

Please check that the merge-minify-refresh folder has been files have been completely removed here: /wp-content/plugins/merge-minify-refresh

    Yes completely removed here: /wp-content/plugins/merge-minify-refresh
Nothing seems to be working, I think I’m going to have to move to a new server and try it there.

I can see that your using cloudflare. Have you cleared your cloudflare cache since removing MMR?

As for the files coming back, I have no idea. I would try disabling Ezoic and see if that helps. Does Ezoic have a clear cache option too?

    Thread Starter goody317

    (@goody317)

Yes I have done that multiple times, clearing cache from both ezoic and cloudflare but these folders and files keep coming back.

Its very strange.. when I view your source code their are references to MMR cache files in _HWIO.assets. Do you know anything about the _HWIO javascript object?

    Thread Starter goody317

    (@goody317)

Hi, not sure what _HWIO javascript object means. Do you think if I move my site to another vps server without any cache will fix this? honestly I don’t know what to do.

Yeah, I’m a bit the same.. I think moving it somewhere else to test it might be the only option.
