• Hi. I just created a new wordpress 3.6 site, and installed Better-wp-security 3.5.6

    No other plugins have been installed yet.

    I was able to implement most other applicable security fixes, however, the wp-content rename is not working. It does ask me to enter a new name, and when I do, it tells me that the rename is done, however, the dashboard does not reflect the issue in green.

    I logged into my server to see if the folder name has changed, and it hasn’t.

    When I go to the wp-content rename section in the plugin dashboard again, it shows the original name.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

  • I’ve been bitterly facing the same trouble due to changing the directory name ‘wp-content’ and still now my site is disappeared. Pls somebody help in this regard. Thanks in advance.

    @swapan_mkt:
    Yes, I remember having that problem once too…
    I never will change the directory again, nor the login hours and I will not hide the login no more.

    If you have a backup of your WP installation’s .htaccess and wp_config.php file, please put them back, rename the directory back to wp-content and delete the better-wp-security plug in from the plug in directory.

    Try to log in now. If you can, redo the Better Better Securiy plug-in and try to keep to my recommendations in the first paragraph.

    At least… I believe this is how I fixed it.
    Hope it helps!

    @swapan_mkt:
    Oh… and restore a backup of your database, because many settings are saved there…
