wp-content/uploads (Settings > Media)

  • Can I UNCHECK the checkbox for organizing Media into “ORGANIZE MY UPLOADS INTO MONTH – AND YEAR – BASED FOLDERS” and then manually move all the images that were uploaded into month and year based folders into the wp-content/uploads folder?!

    I’d like to be able to see all my images and also I’d like to delete ones that I am not using.

  • If you manually move them, it will break any links to those files. I’m also fairly certain that WordPress won’t automatically see them/update their location. If it’s not extremely important/necessary, it would be easiest to leave your current images where they are, uncheck the option, and have all future images uploaded to the Uploads folder.
