• Hi,

Have a very odd error that is popping up and not entirely sure if it’s WP fault, but since this is beyond my depth maybe someone can help me out here.

Basically I’m in the process of building my site: ‘https://www.apeofgod.com’ ; the problem is if I go to that link it usually crashes IE with this error:

    ppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: mshtml.dll
    ModVer: 6.0.2900.2963 Offset: 00219dc0

Now, the weird thing is if I got to ‘https://apeofgod.com’ everything seems to work out fine… which is just plain bizzare.

This wasn’t happening before so I can only assume it is happening because of the changes I have made, but is this happening because of what I have done in a .css, a plugin I have activated, the php, or the html?

I really don’t know where to start or why it would only be happening on the www. version

  • No problems with either link using IE7 Beta 3.

Really? Strange, I have two computers and it crashes everytime with the https://www. version, as well as crashes on my friend’s computer which we all have IE 6.

So, I guess wait until everyone gets IE 7 before sending out the link? lol. Very odd.

I’m using IE6 (or, I pulled it up for you, anyway)

Site came up fine, but then it crashed on “https://apeofgod.com”. The “www.” version was fine. However, it ook a couple of minutes before the crash happened.

I also got a different Offset error: mine is 001ab19b. Could be because my IE is version 6.0.2800.1314

I’m googling and finding some stuff…

I have *no* idea what this technobabble means, but Micorosft says this:

“The Internet Explorer problem occurs if a Web site calls the removeNode method in script code on a cached function pointer on the element style object.”

I don’t know why they can’t speak in plain English. But do you have any scripts/objects running on the page? One site says it can happen when using a custom popup. Maybe one of them is doing it.

Thanks doodle, I’ll start turning off my plugins, I’m using Fgallery with lightbox, so I’m guessing it’s that(lightbox) since I think that would constitute a pop up.

Though, it isn’t on the main page only in the gallery, but I’ll start looking there.

    Thanks again,

I am having the same issue, with the same offset as doodlebee: 001ab19b.

    IE 6 only.
    ModVer: 6.0.2800.1314
    AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
