WP Creating A Lot Of Thumbnails

    Title says it, my wp (theme) creates thumbnails for all images (and not only the featured image).

    If i have 5 thumbnail sizes defined and a post has 20 images in it, it will create 5 thumbnails for each image.

    What can i do (add / remove / modify) so it creates thumbnails only for the featured image and not for the images in the post? I already removed all images sized from the wp admin > settings > media > image sizes (set them all to 0x0).

    Tried changing themes, but I see wp does this for all themes, so it’s nothing related to the theme, i think it’s related to the wp core.

    So what can i do to get it to create a thumbnail for the featured image ONLY ?

    Correct. Thumbnails are created for all images uploaded to the media library. They are used for responsive images throughout the site, whether a featured image or not. This helps make your site mobile friendly.

    Can i make it generate thumbnails only for featured images…

    I don’t see a way to restrict it to featured images.
