WP Dashboard loading slow: jquery.flot.retina.js:3

Interesting, I have never seen that error before. The plugin is not using jquery.flot.retina, this is used by another plugin or maybe your theme.

As a test, can you try a different theme?

Then if it works, try your theme again, and disable my plugin. Just to make sure it is linked to my plugin (actually I am not sure, this might be completely unrelated to the retina plugin and might be a theme issue).

ok i’m testing a little bit. Maybe it has to do with the wp rocket plugin and the settings to minimize css and js.

Yes, that’s probably it ??
Try not to minimize the JS as a test, or maybe in a different way.

Did you solve the problem @souldfly999? I’m seeing the same after updating to WP 4.4. I have WP Rocket, but even when disabled, I get the same error (never did this before, even with WP Rocket running for months).

VeganOstomy, I don’t believe that could come from WP Retina 2x, it seems completely unrelated.

jquery.flot.retina.js is not part of WP Retina 2x. I know there is “retina” in there but it is a different script that apparently creates retina chart.

WP Retina 2x works perfectly with WP 4.4 ?? You can update.

Thanks Jordy. The reason I ask is because I have both wp-retina 2x and WP Rocket, but have noticed this error on my live site, but not my local dev site… I can’t find the source of the error and was hoping that anyone finding a solution might share what they did.

VeganOstomy, if you disable WP Retina 2x, load the admin and check the errors. Do you get the same error?

Yup, I get:

I don’t believe that this plugin is causing the error, but the “retina” part of it did lead me here! hehe

Hmm, charts? Not that I’m aware of, unless the analytics/site stat plugins count.

Try disable that analytics plugin, that might be it. Would be nice to post the results here because I think many people will come here like you did since there is “retina” written in the name ??

It wasn’t my google analytics plugin, but the JETPACK SITE STATS module that was causing errors! I guess I need to report this to them =)

Ah super! Yes you should ?? But at the same time, they have so many users, they should now already ??

You pointed me in the right direction – I’ve reported it to them… let’s see how quickly it gets fixed.
