WP Database Update Required – can't log in

  • so, tried to update to 3.4, it had failed on the automatic update – so I thought it didn’t work, maybe I tried again and it did, I really don’t remember. Went to log on today, and there was an error, so messed with some things in my FTP (really hoping I didn’t screw something up), and now I have this message:

    Database Update Required

    WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.

    The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.

    Update WordPress Database

    I click on it, and then nothing happens. Just a blank page. ??? What am I missing here? So frustrated. Thank you!

    I had the same problem. My site is off … with the mention error to connect to data base.

    Haw can I undo this ou solve it ?

    ok so I tried to do that, and it actually let me get to the point where I can log in and get to my dashboard. Says that I am using the current version 3.4…but it’s set up wrong – meaning, if you go to my blog, there is nothing but a white page. and the theme is twenty eleven (I think). I tried to load my zip file for ProPhoto4, and I get an error message:
    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Could not create directory. /var/www/users_domains/jana/janamelindaphotography.com/wp-content/themes/prophoto4/

    Theme install failed.

    I had changed my domain to https://www.janamelinda.com – do you think there is a problem with the redirect or something? I just can’t figure this out. thank you!
