Good evening, Hope all is well. Recently, I downloaded the WP-DBManager plugin. After the download was completed, there was a warning message that stated, “Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public. To correct this issue, move the .htaccess file from wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager to /home/usearname/public_html/wp-content/backup-db”. There was a button for an autofix, but after I clicked it, the file permission settings of the site changed. Now, most of our uploaded files are not accessible and an error occurs on the page, stating, ” Forbidden – You don’t have permission to access wp-content/upload… on this server. I was wondering if there is a way to revert the changes made by the plugin to the htaccess file? Any advice that you can provide would be appreciated.

Remove the .htaccess file in wp-content/upload… ?

I am having problems with this version too and I have it on over 100 websites so I am quite familiar with it.
I have moved all the access files and it is not fixing it.
    Still getting all this:
Your backup folder is NOT writable
To correct this issue, make the folder /home/admin77/public_html/ali/wp-content/backup-db writable.
Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public
To correct this issue, move the file from /home/admin77/public_html/ali/wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager/htaccess.txt to /home/admin77/public_html/ali/wp-content/backup-db/.htaccess
To correct this issue, move the file from /home/admin77/public_html/ali/wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager/index.php to /home/admin77/public_html/ali/wp-content/backup-db/index.php
Click here to let WP-DBManager try to fix it

So do I have to now manually move an index file and a htaccess file every time I install this? I have other clients not with my hosting asking me to fix this recently too. I am looking for an older version to use in the meantime.

It is a thin line between security and convenience and I apologised for the hassle but I take security seriously and hence this is necessary.

You can click I try to fix it. It works in all those site that I tested with even multisites.
