WP default RSS feed problem

  • Hi
    I am editing a WP theme on my Xampp localhostserver and am trying to set up the default WP RSS feed.
    When I activate it on the admin widget page I get this error:

    RSS Error: A feed could not be found at https://localhost/wordpress/

    Give the feed a title (optional):

    Delete | Close

    Entries from any RSS or Atom feed
    Home-Top
    Post-Top-Right-Home
    Post-Top-Right-Single

    Can someone tell me what I have done wrong and how to fix this please?
