• My readers are getting a script error when they view my site. I’m not sure if it’s related but also there is only the Archives
    open all | close all

    and then

    undefined

with no actual list of the months/years.

    It works ok in Firefox.

    Any ideas?

The only script error I get is “ejoin is null or not an object” and I’m not sure if that has anything to do with the problem or not.

  • Unless you absolutely must have “Open To Selection”, I suggest you try WP-dTree 3.2.

I hadn’t realized it was available yet. Huge improvement! Thank you so much.

Well, that was a big improvement to Firefox, but it turns out that I get the exact same error in IE as before:

    open all | close all

    and then

    undefined

with no actual list of the months/years.

It might be just in IE 7.

Something seems to be wrong with the dTree javascript. Did you have these issues with any previous version?

If you need to test them (and please do), I’ve got 7zip-archives of the old versions in the SVN.

I had the same issue with 3.1. I’m probably not the right person to test since I’m not sure what I’m looking for. I’ve disabled the plugin for now. If you find out what is wrong, please contact me through the website. I would really love to use this, and the newest version seems like it would be a lot less heavy if the javascript can be fixed.
The error only appears in IE7 for me, but it really slows down the page a lot in Firefox too.

You’re looking for if the tree dissapears in IE or not. The javascript hangs for some reason, and I need to know if the problem was introduced by me (easy to locate), or if the problem was there before I forked the code (more difficult to locate).

Could you perhaps try out 3.0 too?

As for contacting you – send me an email (ulf at ulfben dot com) and I’ll make sure to keep you posted.

    Thanks for helping out.

WP-dTree-3.3 is out now, and it seems to work quite well with IE (6).

I’m unable to test it exhaustively though, so if you spot any issues please inform me. And If you’re a CSS-hacker, perhaps you can help me get rid of WP-dTree’s layout quirkiness in IE too…

    Hi Ulf,

I’m still trying to figure out a way to make the tree open to parent categorys only and let the user open to (listed) posts by click (as a workaround to the issue that “open to selection” combined with “list posts” (1000 +) slows down performance way too much.

Nevertheless I also get the “eJoin” error in IE 6 and IE 7, with an incomplete tree and page being shown.

    I’m using Version 3.3.2 with WP 2.3.3

    Thanks for any input.

same problem on my blog..undefined with IE7.
    any solution ? ??

I think it must be a problem before the fork, becouse looking up https://www.silpstream.com/blog/ in IE7 isn′t “surfable”, becouse you can′t select something, nothings of the tree is visible … when i look up with firefox, no problem :\

becouse of the high % of users which surf with the ie, i′m very sad that i cant use this fantastic plugin :\
Will look up this thread and hope this “bug” is done in a while XD

WP-dTree 3.4.1 is not working on IE. I just upgraded to WordPress 2.6.1. The same script error happened with previous versions of WP so I disabled WP-dTree and thought that I needed to update WordPress for it to work, but I get the same thing now.

It pops up a little window saying:

    Stop running this script?
A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may be unresponsive.

If you click YES, then does not work and you get “open all | close all undefined”.

If you click NO, then WP-dTree works just fine.

    What to do??

On Firefox it works beautifully (of course… HATE IE).

On another note… when viewing the Source Code of my Blog, why does WP-dTree put a the ENTIRE LIST of the Archive in there?
