Hello, I am using the WP e-Commerce plugin and it is AWESOME, but I am having one slight problem.

When people purchase something from the site the shipping is added to the total and looks great. However once they go to pay via PayPal the shipping is no longer in the total and all they are paying is the product price. I really need the shipping to be added with the totals when they go to pay.

People are currently ordering now so time is of the essence. I would really appreciate any help anyone can give me on this. The site is https://www.teresakogut.com. Thank you very much in advance for any help you can provide.

    Sincerely,
    Joshua

If time is of the essence, you should probably go to the plugin author’s site and contact the author directly. Many plugin authors check these forums rarely, at best.

They have a forum over at https://www.instinct.co.nz/blogshop/support-forums/ – they have bug reports there too, I think this is a problem that other people have had too.

There have been a lot of new releases lately, try the latest version and see if that helps too.

they are a joke dont spend/waste ur $ there.. trust me I know of at least 3 other guys who have bought commercial paks from them and 2 got keys that were invalid and other guy has bugs with no responses from support
they are never on their own forum
take a look and see for yourself
    this article sums it up

Thanks for the advice everybody. I have checked the message boards over there and contacted the owner with no result. I ended up downloading an earlier version of one of the files and replaced the new file with it, and it seems to be working now. Unfortunately now it only charges the international shipping fee but there are very, very few international orders so it will balance out in the end. Thanks guys.

    Sincerely,
    Joshua

Agree with lyle – the authors do not respond to requests, PAID or OTHERWISE.

    Sorry for the caps.

I bought an $80 token, and waited for a response for a few days. None came. So I started emailing them. No dice.

Two weeks later I managed to get their attention by posting here on WP forums (search my profile for links) and raising my voice. The public exposure compelled them to contact me.

The help that resulted from that was pathetic, REALLY poor.

I love the software, but think the authors lie somewhere between “uncaring” and “outright jerks”.

Anyway, look for the shipping amount in the querystring (the stuff after the question mark) on the page that lands at PayPal. Should be something like …&shipping=5.33…

This can help you debug. If that doesn’t work, try setting shipping in PayPal, and forget shipping in the plugin.

intellivision – I think you are being very unfair. We try our best to support everybody, that includes people who pay for support and people who do not pay for support.

Sometimes support emails get through the chinks as do support requests and we are really sorry about that. Trust me when I say it is very hard to support everybody – we get literally hundreds and hundreds of emails and sometimes yeah I admit it we just drop the ball and loose track of people.

It has nothing do do with us being “jerks” or “uncaring” – if I was either of those things then I wouldn’t have committed the last two years of my life and thousands of $$$ into to this project!!!

For the records there is no such thing as an invalid API key. That is impossible – the problem is that some web hosts do not support CURL or fopen which are the two PHP methods we use to establish a connection with our API database – if your server doesn’t support these functions then your API will not activate against our database. In these cases we always help people manually activate their gold files – sometimes we are not immediate to respond but we always try – and remember I’m only human, so sometimes I drop the ball!!! I’m sorry about that too, and if you keep on my case and email me these things almost always get resolved for people.

Just to give you an example we’ve spent all week fixing bugs and supporting a number of sites – this week alone we’ve helped get 3 more sites up and running – some paying and some not paying. Its all we do.. its just not true that I don’t care and abusing me and the guys here at work is just sad and hurtful :'(

    d

“emails get through the chinks”? LOL.

I can post all the emails (mostly one-way unanswered emails, from me), all the instinct.nz forum posts, and www.ads-software.com forum posts from the entire 2-week exchange if you want. Or would that be unfair?

Even my threats of revoking the $80 payment with PayPal went unanswered. Only the post here at WP forum worked.

I don’t think for a second you don’t love what you do, mufasa. But how would you react if you paid someone EIGHTY DOLLARS for something and had to chase them all over the internet to get a response, and then when you got one it was piss-poor? That’s sad and hurtful.

Again, I think the software is great, but support and value-for-money are awful.

That is your “opinion”. I could probably ask all the people we have helped in the last few weeks… months… years to post differing opinions from yours but I don’t have to time to argue with you.

Its the putting right that counts and that is what I want to do!!!

If you could email me personally some of the emails you have sent me I think that would be fair. I don’t know what your real name is and searching for intellivision does not reveal anything in my email or purchase logs ??

Hopefully the next version (coming out this week) will fix any errors you’ve had or are having. Actually after looking through your posts I can see that some of them have been nailed already…

    – Product ordering has been over hauled, it is now drag and drop powered from the edit products > product category page

    – Category descriptions definitely work

As for Graduated Shipping. This will come in a future version, there isn’t enough time to get this working before Christmas.

Thanks for the offer mufasa, however I don’t need help for that problem any longer.

No worries mate. I’m really sorry I’ve offended you bro and that things didn’t work out!!!

Allen (wp e-commerce developer) has just installed the stable 3.5 version and upgraded with the latest unreleased beta. He came across a few final bugs that he is working through now…

We are very very close to releasing the next build.

Hey Mufasa don’t go too far, I bought your product yesterday, and I am going to install it tomorrow. I am a novice at computers. Recommend any easy tutorial etc..I didn’t even download the wordpress as yet…

The best tutorial I have found so far is this one:
    https://www.fiddyp.co.uk/how-to-add-a-shopping-cart-to-wordpress/

We have started our own Wiki as well. It is quite new and needs fleshing out more but we’ll get there. Hopefully I’ll get to write some more during the holiday period:
    https://wiki.instinct.co.nz

If all else fails find my contact details via the Instinct website. Its 11:42pm here in NZ now… time to catch some zzzzzz’s

I personally think it’s great that you have paid so close attention to this forum!

I am having a problem with my install, am getting the error

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 46080 bytes) in /mnt/gs02/herd02/24609/domains/blog.briannasnider.com/html/wp-admin/includes/template.php on line 58

Can you throw me a hint on how to fix this?

I have plenty of space on my account – more than a gig!

any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you mafusa…
