I’m using a responsive theme and have 4 columns using an image at the top and text underneath. I have used a background color in each column. In Chrome, the bottoms are perfectly aligned. In Firefox and IE they are not: two are aligned slightly shorter than the others so across the page I’ve got longer|shorter|longer|shorter. Is there something I can add that will ensure they are the same across all browsers? Firebug showed that the columns vertical alignment is baseline. Does this make a difference and should this be changed? If so, where? I’d really like a better looking display than I have now. The site is not live so I don’t have a link but any suggestions would be very welcome!

Update: I had failed to notice that with margins included, the images were a few pixels larger than the columns allowed. It was this that caused the different appearance in Firefox and IE. Once the images were scaled down, everything worked and the column heights were consistent across all browsers.
