• I’m trying to put the finishing touches on a site, it’s basically ready to launch and I just went to test the eCommerce plugin, but when I clicked ‘add to cart’ it just sits there and spins and spins.

I’ve tried the usual of turning of plugins (although I can’t turn them all off as some are essential to the theme) and I’ve checked to see if I’m loading multiple instances of jquery (and apart from WP-Ecommerce’s Gold Cart addon doing something which looks like an extra jquery load) it all looks fine.

The checkout works fine too, and I managed to pay for an item and that all went through fine. So the spinning ‘updating cart’ hang isn’t actually telling me what’s really going on because on refresh the item has been added to the cart.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Not sure if you’ve solved this or not, but I just encountered a similar problem and after trying everything under the sun to get the “Add to Cart” Ajax working on the page, I turned off debug mode in my wp-config file and sure enough… it’s working again!

It’s really weird because when I first got everything setup, it was actually working. I don’t know what changed caused everything to conflict but it’s back now. I also though re-copied the plugin files (not my theme customization files), flushed the cache, changed themes, turned plugins on and off, etc.

    Hope this helps someone!
