WP email subscription box not working?

Hi there,

I have one of the WP email blog subscriptions placed as a widget in a side bar (my site is mcmsalem.com) but for some reason, any email I enter, it won’t register (I also haven’t added any blog posts- could this be why?) Just wanted to see if anyone had any trouble shooting ideas, or if there was alternative means for email capture in a widget (that is through wordpress, not aweber, constant contact etc.)
