WP External LInks breaks WP REST API

    WP External Links is completely blocking REST API. It shows up as an error in the site health and prevents some other plugins from running. I get an absolutely blank screen when testing online. It isn’t due to an interaction with another plugin.

    I see this was reported some time ago, but it is currently an issue in my installation of WordPress 5.6 and php 7.4

    Would love to keep using this plugin, but not unless this is fixed.

    Please try this ??

    1. Go to the External links settings page
    2. Go to the Exceptions tab.
    3. On the first option that reads “Apply settings on”, uncheck the “All contents” box.
    4. Select all the other options that appeared below (Post content, Comments, All widgets)

    It was already set that way. I tried changing it and changing it back, but it didn’t make any difference. ??
