I use Semplice’s Instagram module that displays the same 10 photos as expected, never uploaded or deleted a photo in over a year. For the past couple of months, however, Instagram feed has been having issues. After clearing cache, the module would display the photos without a problem, but only for the first 72 hours. After that, all photos become broken and only display broken icons.

To determine the culprit, I ran several tests.
1. I revoked, then granted new third-party access in my Instagram account settings. ISSUE PERSISTS
2. I used a brand new Instagram account with a brand new set of photos. ISSUE PERSISTS
3. I created a brand new WP installation on a brand new hosting account. ISSUE PERSISTS
4. Finally, I disabled WP Fastest Cache and, lo and behold, Instagram module works beyond 72 hours. Even a week later, the module still works.
But I need to use WP Fastest Cache for caching. How can we resolve this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

The problem is caused by wp nonce security system. You should set a cache timeout rule as below.

Is that rule for clearing all cache automatically instead of manually?

Clearing all cache has a negative effect as it increases load times for visitors. Is there an alternative fix to my issue? I’ve been using Instagram module with WP Fastest Cache for more than a year and never had this problem until about two months ago.

can you disable all the checkboxes except the “Cache System” option and clear all cache please? In this way, we can be sure that cache causes the issue or not.

Ok, I did as you said.

But now we have to wait 72 hours to see the result. I’ll let you know.

UPDATE:

As previously discussed, after disabling all the checkboxes (except Cache System) and waiting over 72 hours, the module broke again.

What’s our next step? ??

it means that the plugin is not compatible with the cache plugins. you need to set a cache timeout rule as below.

Would you know why everything worked perfectly fine for a year and then suddenly stopped? Your plugin and Semplice’s instagram module have always been up to date.

maybe the instagram plugin started to use the WP_NONCE system now.
