• Hi everyone,

I was working on a client site and wanted to compress images to increase website speed. But the images I wanted to compress were in the folder in the WordPress file manager plugin. I accidentally deleted that folder and the images have been deleted from the homepage. Is there any way to restore that images folder?

    Regards,

    Amelia

  • Hi,

In cases like this, your best would be to restore an available backup. Whether it’s one created using WP plugins or generated by the hosting provider. Additionally, depending on how you deleted the folder perhaps the ‘Trash’ can be restored i.e. if files were deleted via a File Manager, you hosting provider may have this feature.

    Hi @amelia567,

We will be happy to help!

The best option would be to contact your hosting company and ask for their assistance in restoring the available backup. You could also check your installed plugin to see if it has any backup functionality.

When you unintentionally remove a folder, it will go to the Trash folder if it is enabled; otherwise, there is no other way to restore it. If you have enabled the Trash folder from the “Preferences” page, this will help you to restore folders.

Please let us know if you have any more questions.

    Warm regards,
