Wp-FileBase and S2Member conflict

I have the latest version of S2member and wp-filebase. For some reason, when selecting a file to be as Members Only in Wp-filebase as any of the S2Member roles, s2Member #1, #2, #3, etc, the file is not protected by wp-filebase, anyone can enter the file url to download it. Or, if it is protected as s2Member #1 (a higher access level) on a page that has level #0 or “subscriber”/registered user access, the lower level #0 / registered user can access the file. How can this be fixed? Or are the two plugins completely incompatible in that regard?
