• First, this is a great plugin and does almost exactly what I require.

The only issue I’m having is with the auto sync feature. I’m perfectly happy to have auto sync run every hour, but I cannot get it to work. I have tried this on two different WordPress installations and in neither does it work as expected.

First, let me make sure my expectation is correct: having set the upload path to the default setting of “wp-content/uploads/filebase” and checked the “Automatic Sync” option, any file I add to that defined upload folder via FTP should automatically show up in the filebase within one hour of the upload being completed. Correct?

That isn’t happening and I’m not sure how to troubleshoot it. One thing I did do was install plugins that show me all the wp-cron jobs in the system and there does not seem to be anything listed for wp-filebase auto sync. Should there be? Or is the auto sync cron handled by some other method? Is checking the “Automatic Sync” option and then saving settings supposed to add an entry to wp-cron? If that is the case, then this is not happening…so is there a way I can manually add the auto sync to wp-cron and make it work?

If I can get this working, this plugin will become my 100% solution. Please advise.

    Thanks

Well, I spoke too soon, I guess. After a week of struggling with this without effect, it now suddenly seems to be working. Not sure why. I’ll keep testing to see if this was a one-time success or if it will now work consistently.

    Thanks

Well, with apologies…I had marked this as resolved but have to change it back to not resolved.

Unfortunately, that auto sync that occurred (mentioned in my second post) was apparently a fluke. Or something…I’m not sure. SOME of the files that I left uploading via FTP were added to Filebase…those that were uploaded before 7pm. This coincides with this message that appears next to the manual sync button:

Automatic sync is enabled. Cronjob scheduled hourly. (Last cron sync on August 8, 2013 at 6:57 pm.)

As I write this it is August 9 at 10:24am. No explanation as to why no more syncs occurred after 6:57pm. I do not know if syncs occurred hourly up until 6:57pm. Is there any log file that would show whether or not those syncs occurred?

I’ll keep monitoring. Hopefully some better evidence will present itself. Meanwhile, I’m open to any troubleshooting suggestions or other ideas.

    Thank you.
