    Greetings ??

Google Page Speed Insights is advising me to eliminate render-blocking resources, and top of the list is wp-forecast-default.css. So I wondered why this is even being included on the home page if the actual widget is only being used on one page in a password protected section of the site? Is there a way that I can include this css only on the page that uses it?
    Kind regards,
    Hennie

    Hello Hennie,

at the moment the css is included on every page in the frontend. That’s because I have no idea to find out if the widget is displayed on a page or not. I tried several ways but seems WP does not have any possibility to find out before the page is displayed.

Maybe an option to disable the css would help too. So you can inlcude it at a different place. What do you think?

By the way you have 37 ressources blocking the rendering (delay about 6.5 seconds) and wp-forecast-default.css just save 180ms and is not a main problem for page speed on your site. The order the files are displayed reflects not the potential of saving time during page load. I would recommend to start with the files with the longest delay.

Hi and thanks for the reply. You’re right, it’s not the biggest issue – it was just top of the list for some reason. I think disabling the CSS would be my best solution because I can include it elsewhere. I’m not very technically minded so unfortunately I cannot give you any other suggestions. What would be the easiest way to disable the CSS that would survive future plugin updates?

I have added a new option in v6.1 to deactivate CSS loading.
It will be published in a few minutes.
