    Hey Gang,

I’ve been trying to fix this for 2 days. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. It seems like it should be a REALLY simple fix. So, I created a pretty simple Contact form for my Contact page. Then, I clicked on “EMBED” in the top right corner of the WP Form page. It takes me to my Contact page where I click on the WPForm icon, and then click on Select a Page, where I select the only option (of course), the Contact page. When I do that this is the error I get: “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.” I tried TWICE getting help from Bluehost Help early Thurs. night, and even gave them my email and told them “Take your time, and get back to me when you can.” It’s 10:PM EST Friday night, and not a word. So, here I am. Like I said, I’m kinda embarrassed cuz it looks like a really simple solution. HEP ME!
BTW, if you can’t get to the page, Sorry, tell me how to properly display link and I will correct it.

    Hi @gplea58 ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We understand that you are encountering an issue with WPForms not embedding your contact form, and are receiving the following error:

“This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.”

I’d suggest running a conflict test to rule out any theme/plugin conflicts. The best way to determine this is to:

    – Clear your site and browser caching
    – Temporarily switch your theme to Twenty Twenty
    – Disable all plugins
    – Repeat the same actions as before to embed your contact form.

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

Please see the below documentation for a more detailed explanation of how to do a conflict test here:
    https://wordpress.com/go/tutorials/how-to-manage-wordpress-theme-and-plugin-conflicts-with-three-easy-tactics/

If the above has no positive results, please could you share a screenshot of what you are encountering on your side?

We recommend Snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on that page, then paste the URL in this thread.

    Thanks!

My JS Error Code on Contact Page

    Hello Roxanne,

Thanks for the assist. So, I followed the instructions as best as I could. I implemented 2022 Theme, Deactivated all plugins. Went to WPForm and created a fresh form and gave it a new name. Then, tried to Embed it into my Contact page without success. To make a long story short, next I completely deleted all the plugins I KNEW I wasn’t using. Then, 1 by 1 I replaced the 2022 theme with my Astra Pro, along with that plugin, and it worked. I continued adding the plugins, incl. the WP-Optimize, and UpDraftPlus Backup plugins THEN, using those plugins. STILL successful. Finally, I activated the Google Site Kit and when I went back to view my Contacts page that’s when I got the JS error. I’m using the Google Site Kit, AS OPPOSED to the MonsterInsights because 1.) It’s free, and 2.) It’s a stand alone, and I figured that would be simpler. 3. I’ve already gone through the hassle of installing all of the GA ID’s, and products. (BTW, I still never got the original error as of yet.) I looked at, and followed the instructions for Troubleshooting the JS error by downloading the AutoOptimize plugin, but I’m still getting the JS Error. That’s when it was getting TOO DEEP in the weeds. HEP ME!

    Hi @gplea58 ,

    Awesome work on troubleshooting there!

Finally, I activated the Google Site Kit and when I went back to view my Contacts page that’s when I got the JS error.

It appears that there may be a conflict between WPForms and Google Site Kit. You would need to reach out to the developers of either WPForms or Google Site Kit plugins to assist you on having this resolved:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/google-site-kit/
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpforms-lite/

(BTW, I still never got the original error as of yet.)

To troubleshoot further, can you please provide the following?

System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Error log: share a copy of the fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

    Thanks!

    Thanks Roxanne,

I’m getting ready to write Site Kit support now, but I’m confused about your request:

System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Error log: share a copy of the fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

I’m not even using WooCommerce. I don’t get the connection.
    Thanks,
    George

    Roxanne,

I have a question a little off subject, but still pertains to plugins. First of all, GOOD NEWS is it’s FIXED! I deactivated my AutoOptimize (per WPForm support), but I also Deactivated my Starter Templates, The Plus Addons for Block Editor, Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg, and WP Umbrella. My question is, it appears that on at least SOME plugins, that once I’m finished using whatever features it offers than I can deactivate said plugin, and things still work fine. Is there any truth to this? I’ve gone through every page and post, and everything works great.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi @gplea58 ,

Thank you for providing an update.

Glad to hear that the issue has been resolved ??

it appears that on at least SOME plugins, that once I’m finished using whatever features it offers than I can deactivate said plugin, and things still work fine. Is there any truth to this?

Once a feature from a certain plugin is used, that specific feature is related to that plugin itself which means that once that plugin has been deactivated, the features created from within that plugin would automatically disable.

I hope this answers your question!
