Dear community, I wonder if someone can help, please.

I recently rebuilt a website for https://grouprisk.org.uk/. On their previous site they had an integration through WP Fusion to sync users with their Mailchimp account. So, when a new user is added to the site, it automatically created a Mailchimp contact through an API.

When I began the site build, I took a complete copy of all plugins and the above process was working fine in the new environment. But is has stopped recently and I cannot work out why. I have tried “forcing” the process by going into individual contact records and clicking the “create new contact” button, but I just receive an “unable to create contact in mailchimp” notification.

Has anyone experienced similar or have a solution for this?

Very grateful for any thoughts in advance.

    Many thanks,

    Drew

Hey @drewwotherspoon , you’ve come to the right place ??

The WP Fusion logs will be your friend here, here’s some more information on how to access them https://wpfusion.com/documentation/getting-started/activity-logs/

That should show any actions that are triggered in WordPress, as well as any errors related to your configuration or the Mailchimp API. Take a look and let us know what you find out.

Hello Jack, thanks so much for such a swift response it is greatly appreciated.

I can see in the advanced settings that I have the “enable login” box ticked, but I do not have the new tab at the top for activity logs, as per the instructions you kindly sent over. Any idea why that would be.

To add to this, when I try and “force” the system to create a new contact in Mailchimp I get a failure message and “see activity logs for detail”, but when I click on that it says I am not allowed to see them. Any thoughts on why that would be?

Forgive me, I am an okay visual designer, but my experience in these techcnial areas is, well, let’s be kind and say developing.

Again, many thanks for nay help.

If “Enable Logging” is checked here https://i.wpfusion.com/35tXBBFF , and you don’t see the logs tab, then it could be a permissions error.

For example maybe your user is not a full administrator, or someone has customized the permissions in the admin.

If you have any custom code, or a custom theme, you could disable the custom code and and try switching back to a default theme to see if it makes a difference (many times custom code is added to the theme files so that’s why switching sometimes works).

Also make sure you’re running the latest WP Fusion Lite v3.44.8, from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-fusion-lite/

Thanks again Jack, I will take a look at that and see how I get on.

Hi Jack, just thought I would update you. Good news.

I unchecked Enable Logging, saved, ticked it again and saved and the Logs tab then showed. And I have been able to add members to Mailchimp fine now.

    Thanks again for your help.

Great! Glad to hear it. Maybe something got cached somewhere.

If anything else comes up let us know, I’ll mark this as resolved for now ??
