WP Galleries & Lightbox

I’m using the native WP gallery in my posts and want to enable lightbox rather than link to the image attachement.

In the codex, there’s no mention of how enable a light for a gallery. https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Gallery_Shortcode

Is there a plugin or trick to enable a lightbox gallery feature?
