• Resolved bpassport

    Hi,

I downloaded version 3.3.1 of WP Geo. When I try to edit an old post or create a new one, in the WP Admin area I see “Loading google maps, please wait…”, but nothing happens.

I read some other forums/threads about this and not sure how to resolve this. I have disabled all other plugins and tried it, but no luck. I have also reverted to twenty twelve and twenty thirteen themes and tried, but it still does not load the maps.

One thing worth mentioning is that in the general settings of my wordpress, the “wordpress url” is https://bruisedpassports.com/wordpress and the “site url” is https://www.bruisedpassports.com – Do you think this could be the reason that the call to the API does not work?

For my Google API key I have currently allowed all referrers, so not sure if the above mentioned difference should be the cause.

Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot

Any reason why the WordPress URL doesn’t have a “www”?

I’ll shortly be releasing another update with some fixes, so it might be worth trying that first. Should be release in the next day or so.

    Hi Ben
I’m trying WP Geo 3.3.2 and have the same issue that bpassport mentions.. the map won’t appear in the admin at all, giving the message “Loading Google map, please wait…”

I’m using default theme, no other plugins and default permalinks.
    Any ideas??

I’m desperate to use this plugin as it looks like it does what I want a lot better than any alternatives!

    Hope you can help
    Thanks, Martin

Have you set up the settings and Google API key?

Are you able to tell if the page is giving any JavaScript errors or anything?

    Hi madebymartin,

In addition to what Ben mentioned, please also make sure that wordpress url and site url are the same in wordpress general settings. So for instance if your site is https://www.abc.com, make sure that the domain name mentioned in wordpress url and site url is https://www.abc.com in both (or abc.com in both). In my case, originally it was bruisedpassports.com in one and https://www.bruisedpassports.com in the other – when I changed it to have the same in both, it worked for me.

    Hope that helps.

@bpassport Thank you for clarifying that fixed your issue.
