WP-Grins stopped working?

I changed the smilies codes and uploaded new smilies, now they don’t show up in ‘write’ any more. It’s very strange because they work in comments, etc.
I deactivated and reactivated the plugin and did the functions page again to make sure. Will they just ‘appear’ back eventually should I just wait??
