WP hosted domain to new server problems (.com to .org)

    I don’t have much experience with wp.COM, but I’m helping out one of my clients to set up a wp.ORG instal and am having problems.

    They created a wp.COM site to play with wordpress (test.wp.com). Then they bought a domain name through WP so that when you go to test.wp.com it would redirect to homepage.com.

    They finally got a host to set up a wp.ORG site (it’s under the domain hompage.com), but when I try to access the dashboard of homepage.com/wp-admin, it directs me to the original test.wp.COM dashboard/login.

    I’ve tried to find a codex on this but I feel like I hear different things and I’m not sure what i need to do (including this WP one). Any suggestions or threads that tell me what I need to do in my case?

    – My client already has his main email set up for homepage.com so I don’t want the site down, if possible (I tried just changing the nameserver to the host information and the email stopped working)
    – Can’t get to the FTP on the host because (I think) the domain is still on wp.COM?

    And I just realized the site is down…I will need to fix it so that my client can receive email.

    Go to your host and find out your name servers, and go to your domain registrar and replace the current ones with the new ones.
