  • Yes it’s possible… you can put WordPress in any dir that you want, you just have to make sure that you have the correct directory set under Options->Base Settings->siteurl.

infact the installer auto detects the location the blog is installed ??
and if you are shifting you just need to change the locations in the backend.
i have done the shfiting from a folder named b2 to a folder named blog.

We should change the readme, as it says wordpress is made for the root directory… ??

cause i want the index.php in the root folder.

    that is a different case…
try searching for similar topics. there have been many posts asking for this.

Ahhhh… that’s entirely different. As far as I know there’s an extensive amount of hacking required to have index.php in the root folder and everything else in a separate folder.

so cant one of the dev people figure it out? right now, i have b2 index.php in the b2 folder but its included in the root folder but its still running as if it is in the root folder which means things had to be changed. cant there be an option of this included in the next release?

I’d love to have wp code in a directory separate from the blog directory.
