• A week ago I installed WP on a .com domain from my laptop. Today I tried to install it on .in domain with the same name. When I tried to run the step 6 – (www.domain.in/wp-admin/install.php) it returns me a msg saying

    Already Installed
You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

If I click on Log In, it takes me to the .com login page

Both of them have different hosting packages with the same hosting service provider with different databases.

How do I set this right?

  • Hi epypcp,

It sounds like the Site URL for your second installation (.in) may have the same URL as your first installation (.com). For more information on checking (and changing if you need to) the Site URL:

Are you using two separate databases or one database for the two different domains? Also, are these going to be two completely different websites? If not and you plan on the two domain having the same content, I would recommend simply installing WordPress on one of the domains and then setting up a 301 redirect to redirect one domain to the other.

    Hope this helps!
