• I’ve been told by our Theme maker that the reason why text is crashing into the next column when viewed on portrait mode on ipad eg https://savingantiquities.org/our-work/advocacy/ is because it may be my WordPress setup or one of my plugins. Now my plugins are pretty much bare bones. Should I attempt a WP re-install? If so, what should I be careful about?

    What theme are you using?

To expand on Jose’s comment above, I almost always suggest deactivating all your plugins as well as switching back to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Fifteen. Then, if the issue is no longer reproducible, reactivate each plugin one by one as well as your current theme to help uncover the possible 3rd party culprit(s).

The key here is to get WordPress back to a near default state to make sure it’s not a default WordPress/your hosting environment issue.

    Hope this helps!

Using X theme which recently went through a big update. We have a live site, to switch theme to default them is a major deal, is that the only way?

Oh yes, copy your live site to a development site. Once there, make sure you can still reproduce the issue. Then experiment to your heart’s content. This article might be helpful:

Moreover, you could simply create a new WordPress site locally and install any suspect plugins and your X theme and see if you can reproduce the issue. Then narrow things down as far as possible. For example, while running a new install of WordPress 4.2.2 and X Theme version blah, blah, blah I was able to reproduce my issue. Once you have this, then seek out the author’s support forum.

P.S., I myself use MAMP to do all this locally on my computer. More info on MAMP can be found here:
