• Hi all!

I lead my WP posts with an image which I’d like to appear in the RSS blurb. However, the WP RSS feed only has text and seems to be automatically skipping the image.

Is there a plugin or something like that which I need to grab to tell WP to leave the image in the RSS? The site is as https://www.gizmo-central.com if it helps to assess what is going-on.

I’ve dug through the options and all, but didn’t see anything that looked promising (although, this would not be the first time I missed something completely obvious :^)

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • You have your feed set to display a summary (or excerpt) of your posts. Under this setting WordPress strips all HTML tags from the content. You can change it to full text (which does not strip the tags) under Options > Reading, Syndication Feeds.

Thanks Kaf. The problem is, though, that I would like to maintain the excerpts but have the image, which is the first thing in the post text, included.

    All posts are:

    [image]text text text

So they should be compatible with an image+excerpt if that’s possible. I’m guessing it’ll take a hack or a plugin to make this happen. If it would just not strip HTML tags, that would do what I need. I know I can probably hack this, but I want to see if there’s a proper/correct solution first.

    Thanks!
    Mike
