Hello. I have an image sized at 2056×2911 and when I upload it gets resized to 1808×2560. I tried deactivating my plugins and re-attempting and it didn’t fix the issue. I’m not sure what setting needs to be changed so WordPress will not resize my image upon uploading it. It is doing this with multiple images sized at different settings.

Also. I am checking the image size in the media library after upload. That is where I am seeing the image size being altered after upload.

WordPress is supposed to do that. It makes multiple versions of every image, at different sizes, so that it can serve different sized images to different viewers. A user on a phone doesn’t need a giant 2000+ wide image in the page, for example.

    Hello.

I can see all the WordPress resized images for thumbnails, large, medium, etc.. I am talking about the original, full size, uploaded image is getting resized. It doesn’t seem to matter what size I upload at, my example was the last one I tried at 2056px wide. I tried it at 900px wide and 1200px wide and all of the original, full size image uploads were resized down. I’m looking at, and comparing original dimensions to final upload dimensions in the media library. I would love some insight into why this is happening, as I cannot figure it out on my own. I tried deactivating most of my plug-ins and that did not resolve the issue.

That would be WordPress 5.3 doing that. Big images get sized down, by design.
