    Hi there,
I’m using WP Job Manager plugin to create a map of physical stores. So I created a Google API key and I added it into the plugin settings. This seems to work fine since I see a number of connections to the (Maps Javascript) API on my Google Cloud Console. Plus I see the map with no error displaying on the Listings page of my website.

BUT, the map is empty, there is no Pin/Store on it. Plus, when I go to one of the Listing page, I added an address in the Listing Data section, I updated the page few times, but in the Custom fields, there is no Location field as it should appear, as if the plugin doesn’t see any address.

I am working on a local wordpress website using Listable theme. I just spent hours on the web trying to figure it out, if someone please have any idea, i would be really grateful !

  • I’m having a similar issue. I entered a new listing, however the map is not showing up in the right hand panel even though I put in a location. I’ve tried with the Google Map API and map box API.

Here’s the url for one of the pages. Any ideas why map isn’t showing up?

@jakefriedman I see your website sorted the location issue, did you manually enter all the locations or did you find a fix?

    Thanks

I am also having issues with this. New locations don’t seem to be geo-coding and those custom fields are not created on save. If anyone has a fix, please share.

I believe the fix had to do with the format I was entering my address in. This is an example that worked. In my case, I was not putting the country at the end.

I am with the same problem, the difference is that only two listings with a map appear, all new registrants do not have geolocation. This Listify theme has some restrictions. I am in contact with the author if they decide I will come back here…

    Hey Guys,

Been having this issue i believe since the company was sold and new owners start to work with Listify theme, editing previous listings the address doesn’t show anymore or adding new listings same scenario, i customise the functions to display the address how i wanted it with previous owners and now nothing works, all the info in admin has been removed with my customizations.

I’m again having issues with the map. I am adding my location and getting back the lat/long geocodes. however when I look at my listing page, the map is not displayed. Just a grey area. Anyone get through this?

Hi, any luck on solving this? I have the exact same issue. When submitting a new listing from the frontend the location data are just passed as a string, although the API is set correctly. In order for the listing to appear on the maps, I need to manually add the geolocation_lat and geolocation_long custom fields.

Make sure that you are entering a valid address in the job_location field, this IS REQUIRED for geolocation to work.

Check the meta on the listing itself (from admin area), use something like Post Meta Inspector plugin if you need, you should see fields with meta keys that start with geolocation_XXX where XXX should be things like state etc

If those fields do not exist, geolocation data was not generated by WP Job Manager for some reason.

If it does show, and not showing on the map, you should contact theme developer for support as it’s an issue with the theme

@tripflex , I ended up getting update for my theme and all was good.

@akakafonis , did you add the API key to your wordpress site? It’s under Listings>Settings. If that’s there, try including country in the location.

In my case the Geocoding API was returning Error and I fixed it by removing some Application restrictions I had enabled. No country needed in the end and it works fine.

Just some remarks because I see that many people are struggling with issues like this:

    1. Make sure that your GCP project is connected to an active billing account. Once one of my bank cards was rejected but it was not clear on my billing dashboard. I had to enter a new card and follow some verification procedures in order for my new account to be accepted and the maps to work.

    2. Make sure you have enabled Geocoding API (converts addresses into geographic coordinates) and not just created a key.

    3. Some people mentioned that the maps do not load. Make sure Maps JavaScript API is enabled.

“+Enable APIS and Services” gives the option to enable those.

Don’t you need another plugin on top of wp manager in order to get map listings? That’s what I’m understanding so I just purchased “WP Job Manager Geolocation” for $39 based on my research and this post here

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/is-there-a-free-map-plugin-that-works-with-the-wp-job-manager/

Richard Archambault (@richardmtl) suggested a couple of plugins in that post and one of them was “WP Job Manager Geolocation” to work with “WP Job Manager” so I’m hoping that solves my issue of no map showing up for my job listings with “WP Job Manager”

Forgive me if I’m way off. I’m new to this stuff.
