Site is up an functioning but I can not get to my admin page through wp-login. All I get is a blank white page, no error messages.
I have deactivated all plugins, no change. I have changed to theme twentyeleven, no change.
Going through the site to member login page also gets me to a blank white page.
I have made no changes since it last worked.
I am a novice at this and lost now.
    What should I try next?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

esmi: I have reset the plugins folder but the problem did not go away. How do I switch to default theme without wp-admin page?

My host provider just emailed me.

He said he renamed my wp-login.php.backup to wp-login.php and that solved my login problem!
OK, great , but where did the wp-login.php.backup some from? And what happened to my original wp-login.php file?

    Does this make sense?

where did the wp-login.php.backup some from

Are you sure your hosts didn’t do this? Some hosts did following a spate of recent server attacks.

My host isn’t telling me much about it. But they apologized for the day of frustration and that it was part of a work around.
Next time I go to them first.
    Thanks for your support.
