WP login screen hacked

  • When I type in my sitename.com/wp-login screen url, a white screen comes up with an expletive message (“fuck u”)at the top of the page. This has apparently been a problem for years but I have just taken over as admin of the site. I have been given an alternative url to sign in with by the company that set the site up in the first place:
    https://sitename.com/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fsitename.com%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1
    If i go here, the sign-in screen comes up as normal and I can sign in no problem.
    Can anyone tell me what is going on here and how to fix it so that i can just go to sitename.com/wp-login to log in?
