wp-login.php not loading

Suddenly this evening I can’t login to my wordpress installation.

I click on login and it adds wp-login.php to the URL and then adds a leading slash

so: https://www.macmend.com
https://www.macmend.com/wp-login.php
https://www.macmend.com/wp-login.php/

I added one new plugin today get_recent_comments and that is all

I have tried different browsers, manually deleted cache, reset browsers, altered the super cache htaccess
but just cant get to login, I have looked at other posts here and all to no avail
