• Hello all. I hope you are well.

I have a problem that a user has reported. I haven’t been able to replicate it, but here’s the gist:

We have a password protected page using normal WordPress page password protection. We got the following email from a user:

“It seems like the problem is the redirect link after clicking the button is going to the wrong location. It just goes right back to: wp-login.php?action=postpass

“I attached a fiddler log of the redirects. It happens if i open a chrome instance that doesn’t have the password cached (an incognito window will do that). After typing the password, it gets stuck in a redirect loop.”

Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Thanks,
    David

  • Hey David, I’m David ??

Have you tried resetting the users password? I would also recommend telling him to try a different browser or clear cache/cookies on his local machine.

Let me know if any progress is made or if there is a different issue afoot ??

Hi David. We are using one-password for all members, that changes from time to time. We are using the default WordPress password protection for that page. I haven’t had problems logging in myself, and can’t replicate the issue, but have had several complaints of the same thing.

When I type in my domain url with /wp-login.php?action=postpass I get the redirect loop error.

    Thanks,

    David

Have you read this part of the Codex regarding using Password Protection?
