WP logs me out every 2 minutes…

  • Since I updated to WP 3.8.1 and updated my theme, WP logs me out about every 2 minutes. It all starts with me attempting to update a page or media, it freezes, then after about 5 minutes it sends me to the log-in page.

    I have already cleared my cookies, deactivated and reactivated my plugins, and disconnected the Google PageSpeed function.

    This is making my productivity at a 0 when I every update takes 10 minutes of waiting. Please help!

    Try:

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems (because the hooks remain unless plugins completely removed or some plugins stick around in cached files. So by renaming the folder, you break them and force them inactive).

    – switching to the unedited default, core-bundled Theme (such as Twenty Twelve, Twenty Thirteen or Twenty Fourteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue.

    – Also try resetting your permalinks.
