wp-mail error and repeating message Ooops POP3 connect

  • we encounterd a wp-mail error problem on our hosting account with 5 domains on it. one of those domains sends this “Ooops POP3 connect:No server specified” message for 60 times in the last three days.
    we do not know the domain where these messages came from.
    we have there at least 6 wp installs there, both 1.5 and 2.0
    we deleted all the wp-mail.php files from all the wp-root directories hoping the mailserver will work again properly.
    if this is what i think we have a new form of spam on our tails.
    if someone encountered a problem like this, we would we pleased to know what to do about it.
