wp-mail language translation with Weglot

    Hi,

    in your plugin description it is written:
    “Emails are sent via WordPress native ‘wpmail’”.

    We are using Weglot to manage our WooCommerce translations (currently 2 languages on our website). It also translates all the native WP purchase emails without any problem.

    Unfortunately – we don’t know why – abandoned cart emails from your plugin – are not being caught and translated by Weglot. Is there any special function or method to do it?

    Of course we have also contacted Weglot, but the answer was, that if the plugin uses the native ‘wp-mail’ function – all the emails should be translated.

    Right now, the email will be sent in the same language that you have added to the email template.
    We haven’t tested or added any compatibility with the Weglot translation plugin. We will check it once and let you know.

    we have some news and questions from Weglot:

    “Actually, Weglot adds a language tag when the order is created, so I’m not sure it can work with such abandoned cart (if the order is not completed yet).

    Can you add a tag on your side, to the abandoned order?
    You can ask your plugin support if it’s possible.

    If yes, when you are in your WordPress back office, you can add a parameter wg_language in the URL to specify a language.

    For example, if you want to send an email translated in French, you can add &wg_language=fr at the end of the URL like this:

    https://website.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=632&action=edit&wg_language=fr

    Once you are in this URL, send the email from the backend and Weglot will use this parameter to send the email translated.”

    Do you think it’s possible to make it work?

    Hello @donebodycare,

    Weglot translates the Woocommerce email templates using the Woocommerce hooks. But cart abandonment recovery emails are not similar to the Woocommerce emails. Hence recovery emails not be translated.

    It needs to add custom compatibility. We will discuss this point with our team members and will also contact the weglot plugin author for the same. It might take some time to discuss & implement the things.
