When sending a test email it fails due to the IP address the email is being sent from not being in our exchange connector policy. I have configured the dedicated IP address of the cPanel account to allow relay through the connector. However the error log from SMTP mail is indicating that it is in-fact coming from the Shared IP address of the server.

cPanel support have logged into the server and confirmed that the configuration of exim to relay mail using the dedicated IP is correct and sending directly from the console uses the correct IP address.

Is there something in SMTP mail that I may need to update to tell it to use a different IP address? thanks.

    Hi @lewishackfath,

Thanks for reaching out! Please kindly know that the WP Mail SMTP plugin simply bridges a connection between your WordPress site and your preferred email account or mailing service. This ensures that you’re sending emails using an authenticated email address or domain name, which will improve your email deliverability.

It appears that the issue you have experienced may be related to a configuration problem on your server. To troubleshoot further, please try sending a test email from your webmail to this online tool and check the email report to confirm the email server IP.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!
