• Hi @braekling

The plugin isn’t handling properly a multisite setup.
The mainpage is tracking – that works. The plugin also created all the sites in Matomo. But it only tracks the main page, the other sites doesn’t contain the tracking code.

    Plugin version: 1.0.27
    WP Version: 5.9.2
    Matomo Version: 4.6.2

    Please help.

    Thanks,
    Christoph

Do all sites use the same theme?

Did you also check if the site ID estimation is done correctly? I.e., is the correct site ID stored for each single site?

Are you sure the sites do not contain the tracking code? Or is it possible that they contain the tracking code, but with the main site’s ID?

    Hi @braekling

    Yes, all the same theme.
The main site tracks correctly (ID 387) and the subsites are tracking the first site ID (1) in Matomo.

We had that behaviour more in the past months anyway, that your plugin doesn’t output the correct and estimated ID and falling back to ID 1.
When it is set to manual tracking code without changing anything, then it is working again.

    Thanks,
    Christoph

Same issue here. All sub-sites get ID 1. If it makes any difference, our multisite instance is configured as subdirectories, not subdomains.

We are seeing the very same behaviour on several multisites configured in sub directory format (not sub domain). The default site has an ID (e.g. 140) and each subsite (subdirectory) has the ID of 1, and all of their analytics appear to be grouped together, i.e. going to the statistics for any subsite shows the aggregated analytics across *all* the non-default subsites.

We’d like to be able to see both aggregated (at the network level) as well as per-subsite analytics…

Is there a way to achieve that?

Could this behaviour we’re seeing be related to using PHP < 8 for the WP instance? If we upgrade to PHP 8+ would it potentially alter the behaviour?
