After 9 months of development, WP-Members 3.2.0 is now available for testing.

This update has several new features and has had some rebuilding done to make things better and more efficient.

I’m most excited about two updates in this release – the ability to “hide” posts/pages, and the addition of a “Products” custom post type that can be used to create membership products, whether that is restricted content, subscriptions, or downloads.

There is a post with some of the information regarding the update and how to get it here:
    https://rocketgeek.com/release-announcements/wp-members-3-2-0-testing/

If you want to begin testing this update, I encourage you to do so. I’m still working on some final issues, but they do not actually affect the stability of the plugin itself. While it is still technically not production ready, I’ve been running the most recent builds on rocketgeek.com.

If you do test it out and happen across any issues, I do want to hear about it. To report issues with the 3.2.0 beta builds, use the contact form on the support site and indicate 3.2.0 beta testing in the subject.

The possible issues I am most in need of hearing about are upgrade issues – anything that involves upgrading from a previous version that breaks something that worked before.

As an update to this, WP-Members is going into full beta test mode now. The current build is being tested now on the rocketgeek.com development server, and pending a successful test of the update, rocketgeek.com production will be upgraded.

At that point, I will label the beta as a release candidate (RC 1) and begin testing various upgrade scenarios, testing for possible conflicts and the ability to rollback to the current production version.

If all goes well with that testing, we will target full release some time between June 22 and June 30 (although depending on how things go, that could slide up or down).

Please feel free to test from github. Github will always have the most recent build, which as I write this is 3.2.0 beta build 6. This is a stable beta, and from my initial testing, you can roll back to production as long as you go back to remove the username field that is created in the fields array (more on this in the release notes).

Just like my previous post in this thread – if there are any bug reports, issues, or notes on the 3.2.0 beta, please use the rocketgeek.com contact form and indicate “3.2.0 beta testing” in the subject.

OK… 3.2.0 is now the production release. Hopefully all goes well.

IF you find you need to roll back, you can download previous versions here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-members/advanced/

Rollback will require removing the username field. After rolling back to the previous version, go to the Fields tab, select the username field and delete it.
