WP-Members – Can the block/unblock be set in a template?

  • When using the WP-Members plugin – rather than creating a custom field for block/unblock, could I set the value in the ‘members area’ template?

  • The plugin checks for this value when it filters the_content, so no, that wouldn’t work because you would either be doing it before the filter (and then the filter overrides it) or after the filter (when the_content is already filtered).

    But I have to ask why you would want to do this? The custom field is merely meant as an override of the default setting. It’s not something you have to set on every post (or page).

    Thanks for your response. At the moment there are 6 members pages (this number will increase) and dozens of public pages. It’s no big deal to add the custom field to the members only pages. Plugin seems to work well. Thanks.
