• I am working with WP-Members and seem to be getting things set correctly. I have several pages that are unblocked with two pages blocked. When I click on the restricted page, the login/registration page that appears contains three copies of a set of generic login/register fields (in the Center and on the right side and bottom) along with a fourth version that I created as a WP-Members widget. I can not figure out how to get rid of the generic sets. Sugggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Sounds like you are using a theme that has more than one instance of The Loop. That is not compatible with WP-Members.

I am using the Twenty Ten 1.2 theme by the WordPress team. If you want to see what I am talking about look at https://www.mdeatest.org and click on the “Members Login Page” tab. If I have to I will change the theme but I need to have the image banner on the top. Is there another theme that WP-Members is compatible with that I could use?
    Thanks

Based on your original description, I thought it was probably the theme as plugin incompatibilities don’t usually generate multiple login forms. However, looking at the link you posted, it must be a plugin. WP-Members is compatible with Twenty Ten. Looking at the example, all of the extra forms are occurring in the <head> which indicates it is probably a plugin. My initial guess is that it is whatever is generating your meta description tag.

Here are some previous support suggestions regarding tracking it down:

This occurs if you have more than one instance of The Loop, most likely caused by another plugin or possibly your theme. You can narrow it down specifically by deactivating all plugins (obviously with the exception of WP-Members), and testing. If you deactivate all plugins and it still occurs, it’s likely in your theme. If not, then bring the plugins back up one by one to narrow it down. (You’ll need to log out each test since the reg form only shows to users not logged in.)

That did it. Thanks. I turned off just two plugins: Jetpack & Simple Facebook Connect–Share. I am not sure which caused the issue but will inform you if I determine the culprit.

Thanks for this great plug-in, one thing I can’t get the registration page to show up. I’m using a elegant themes templet so i could fallow your video tutorial. How do I get the registration page to show the fields. thanks for your help.
P.S. If a none member goes to my page and clicks on anything or wants to comment they get a registration page but the registration button in the sidebar ( where the plug-in has its log in button) shows a page with only the text I wrote in and no fields to fill out. my site is https://www.bylinx.info
    Thanks for your time.

@jahlinx – thanks for your question, but this really should have started a new thread as it is only related to this thread in that we are talking about the same plugin, but not the same support issue.

If you are having problems getting the registration page to show, the first thing to check is that you are using the correct shortcode. It should be:
    [wp-members page="register"].

Thank you for your help. Jahlinx, One-Love
