After I am logged out, Fire Fox shows my true login name in the member name box when I go to members page or to the register page. If this happens when an outside visitor goes to my site, I should just hand them the keys to my site I guess. Checking this in Edge does not show this same info. So I am hoping it is just a cache thing. Except I clear all cache in FF upon close. I only retain history. As I remember, this was not true a couple of updates ago of showing the true user name after logout of the site. As I remember it either showed the nickname or was blank. Just not cool at all.

Actually, that’s entirely your browser and has nothing to do with the plugin. At some point you’ve saved your information in FireFox.

Just to add to this and clear up any confusion…

Neither the plugin, nor WordPress, actually “remember” your login information. When login credentials are pre-populated in this (or any) login form, that is maintained by your browser. The plugin doesn’t have the ability to pre-populate the login form and it doesn’t save any cookies (although WP does set the auth cookie which maintains your login state when you log in).

Checking the “remember me” box does nothing more than change the amount of time the WP auth cookie lives before it expires. That does not actually remember your login credentials – it just does not expire the cookie that established you as logged in.

Yes after some additional testing, I concur. But it sure startled me when I first saw it.
