wp-migrate-db

  • Hi, I am using Linux Mint 17. I have hit a wall getting the wp-migrate-db plugin to work. I installed it as with other plugins by downloading from the www.ads-software.com and giving it the unix permissions chmod 755

    Then I copied it to /opt/lampp/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/
    and activitaing it.

    But when I go to the wp dashboard tools -> migrate DB > I get this error message

    “Cannot Access Uploads Directory — We require write permissions to the standard WordPress uploads directory. Without this permission exports are unavailable. Please grant 755 permissions on the following directory:/opt/lampp/htdocs/lyca.com/wp-content/uploads”

    The strange thing is, I have looked into the file hierarchy but cannot find the said uploads directory. Can you throw some light on this?

    Your uploads directory is wp-content/uploads

    You need to FTP to that folder and give it 755 permissions. Most ftp clients you can just right click on the folder and go to permissions.
